Scholarships

We are raising money to bring Mupere Lawrence & Etou Scott from their home in Uganda to train as Yoga Teachers with Jivani Yoga and attend a 5 day retreat with Mark Whitwell in Thailand. Your contribution will help not only Lawrence and Scott, but their local community.

Our scholarship program is aimed at aspiring teachers who would love to bring Yoga to their community but who are on low incomes or from areas where the local economy does not afford the luxury of Yoga Teacher Training. We cannot ordinarily offer any assistance with flights, accommodation, or food, but we can with tuition costs. Our previous scholarship recipients have gone on to teach accessible Yoga in China, El Salvador, Haiti, the Philippines, Canada, USA, Ireland and Thailand. If you are committed to bringing Yoga to your community and would like to avail of a scholarship, get in touch with emma@jivaniyoga.com and let's make it happen.

A limited number of work trade options are also available for trainees who require some financial assistance.

To apply, submit your course application requesting consideration for scholarship support in the 'more about your journey' section.

This fund is limited and several people apply each year. We are not able to support everyone so make your application stand out by demonstrating your experience of serving others, your passion for yoga, and why you should be awarded a partial scholarship.

In general the partial work trades give a discount of around USD500 in exchange for helping us set up, pack down, and a few hours every week helping to maintain the space (sweeping, cleaning, taking care of props etc). Larger amounts may be available for photography, social media skills etc.
